  • What Grief Teaches Us About Living

Grief has a way of cracking you wide open. One moment you’re standing in a grocery store aisle, reading a label, and the next—you’re crying over bananas because they were their  favourite. You’re doing the dishes and suddenly realize how quiet the house is. You’re smiling at a memory that punches you right in the gut. That’s grief. It’s unpredictable. It’s inconvenient. And it’s deeply human. But here’s what I’ve learned—grief doesn’t just break us. It reveals  us. When someone we love dies, we are reminded—sharply and suddenly—that nothing is promised. That all the things we’ve been putting off, the dreams we’ve been afraid to chase, the parts of ourselves we’ve been hiding… they matter. More than ever. "Do You Know What Happens After Your Funeral?" There’s this powerful quote I stumbled on from Jordan Peterson: "Do you know what happens after your funeral? A few people will cry. Others will check their phones. The world will go on." It sounds harsh, but it’s real. The truth is—life keeps moving. The world doesn’t stop. So maybe, just maybe, that means we have permission  to stop living half-alive. To stop waiting for the perfect timing. To stop shrinking ourselves just to fit into someone else's expectations. Because at the end of the day, you are the one who has to live with your choices.  With your dreams unfulfilled. With your voice unheard. Grief teaches us that we don’t get forever. But we do  get today. Let This Be the Wake-Up Call If you're grieving, I want you to know this: you’re not broken. You’re not doing it wrong. You're not supposed to “get over it.” You’re supposed to move through it —in your own way, on your own time. But I also want to remind you that this ache you’re feeling? It’s proof of how deeply you loved. That kind of love deserves to be honoured—not just with tears, but with action. So maybe you go write that book. Maybe you finally take the trip. Maybe you tell someone how you really feel. Maybe you finally start living like your time matters. You're Not Alone Grief can make you feel isolated. But you’re not alone in this. That’s why I’ve opened up my DMs. If you’re walking through loss—whether it’s a person, a dream, or a version of yourself—I’m here. I’ll hold space for you. I’ll walk beside you. I’ll help you reconnect with yourself, and your purpose. Just send me a message with the word “GRIEF”  and I’ll share the resources, support, and heart-centered healing I offer. You don’t have to figure this out alone. Final Thoughts Grief isn't just about death. It’s about the life  that follows. It’s about waking up to what matters, who matters, and how you want to show up while you still have the chance. So take the nap. Say the thing. Launch the dream. Let the laundry wait. This is your one precious life. Live it like it means something.

  • The Spiritual Significance of the Strawberry Moon

As the Strawberry Moon rises, we’re invited into a season of sweetness, reflection, and soulful ripening. Named by Indigenous peoples for the wild berries that ripen with the arrival of early summer, this full moon carries not only a sense of natural abundance, but also profound spiritual meaning—reminding us that healing and growth come in cycles, just like the moon herself. Celebrate the Strawberry Moon with a FREE Moon Magic Recipe Guide The Strawberry Moon is more than just beautiful it’s a spiritual checkpoint. This lunation reminds us that we’ve grown through the hard soil of spring, and now it’s time to taste the fruit of our becoming. It’s about harvesting what we’ve nurtured—our intentions, our healing, our patience—and celebrating how far we’ve come. Spiritually, the energy of the Strawberry Moon is gentle yet illuminating. It casts light on what’s been growing quietly within us and asks: Are you ready to receive what you’ve been calling in?  This moon invites us to shift from striving to allowing. It amplifies our heart energy and opens portals for emotional clarity, forgiveness, and soft surrender. Things that were tangled begin to unravel. Answers arrive not through force, but through presence. In Indigenous traditions and folk wisdom, the Strawberry Moon was often a time of community, sharing, and forgiveness. Strawberries—known as the “heart berry”—are shaped like hearts and grow close to the Earth, reminding us to stay grounded in love and humility. This moon calls us into balance: between giving and receiving, doing and being, yearning and savoring. The energetic frequency of this moon also supports us in healing relationships, particularly those close to our hearts. If emotions surface, allow them. This is sacred release. Let the full light guide your inner work with compassion. As we reflect under her glow, we are reminded that softness is power, and our spiritual path is not only about expansion—but also sweetness, simplicity, and alignment. Strawberry Moon Ritual: Softness + Harvest Create a small altar with fresh strawberries (or an image of them), a white or pink candle, and a glass of water. Take a few deep breaths to settle into stillness. Speak these affirmations aloud or in your heart: I honour the sweetness of my journey and receive all I have grown. I am grounded in love, ready to release with grace and rise with light. Close your eyes and visualize the moonlight wrapping around you like a gentle blanket. See it illuminating your heart and softening any places that feel tense, heavy, or uncertain. Place your hands over your heart and thank yourself for the healing you’ve walked through. Sip the water mindfully to ground the energy, and leave the candle burning (safely) for as long as you feel called. Want to align with this energy even more deeply? I created a Strawberry Moon Energy Guide  to help you receive the full blessings of this lunation. It’s filled with spiritual prompts, rituals like this one, and gentle practices to help you bloom from within. This full moon isn’t just a moment—it’s a message. It’s asking you to honour your growth, release with love, and trust in the beauty of your own unfolding. Let’s rise in light. Let’s soften into the sweetness. Let’s shine.

  • Reflections, Grief, and Finding Love in Loss: A December Journey

Most often in December I take time to reflect over the last 11 months and I consider the lessons that I have been presented with, the difficulties that have come up, and I also look for the good that has kept me going when times are tumultuous as they have been for me this year. I don't know about anyone else, but I can say that this truly has been one of the most difficult years that I have faced and trust me I've had some rough years. This year I have struggled with grief that I have not experienced before- having lost multiple family members, including my last surviving parent, as well as a friend, and within my own home my two senior cats. If you know me, then you already know that losing my cats would have been enough to put me in a tailspin...never mind all of the other grief that has been part of my life this year. One thing that I have come to understand how about grief is how it exists just below the surface and on the days when you think you're really okay and you're moving ahead somehow it manages to rear up and catch you off guard, pulling you back down into a place of mire and muck. I have felt that from the beginning of the year right through to now and I am sure I will continue to feel this as we move into 2025 because the grief takes a lot of processing and is not something like laundry that you just fold and put away. As I head into January and the 10-year anniversary of having lost my mom as well as losing my dad this year, I realized that both of those major events in my life occurred with very specific time frames - and there really is a lesson in that. My mom passed 2 days before I celebrate my birthday, and my dad passed on the day of my wedding anniversary. The lesson that I want to bring forward to you is to recognize that many times, grief occurs around important dates in our lives - and this is significant because there is truly a reason. This happens so that when those dates reoccur every year, the people we have lost can continue to be involved in our celebrations - just as they would have done if they were still with us. They leave us on those dates so we will continue to remember and invite them to attend the happy times and to think of them with love, not sadness, as we move forward. If you read the Facebook post that I shared leading you here, you will also begin to realize that our loved ones leave us wanting us to know they are present and needing us to understand that they would readily hold us and hug us during our most grieving moments. If you are having difficulty, as I am this year, the one thing I want you to know as you walk through these holidays and celebrations, is that your crossed over loved ones show themselves to you in a myriad of ways -  all you need to do is look for the signs. As I close this chapter of a deeply challenging year, I hope my reflections resonate with those of you who are also navigating grief and loss. Remember, the people we love remain with us in spirit, woven into the fabric of our lives, showing up in subtle, beautiful ways when we need them most. As we move into 2025, may we all find strength in their presence, joy in our memories, and peace in knowing that love never truly fades—it transforms, becoming a source of light that guides us forward. Here’s to a year of healing, hope, and embracing the love that surrounds us, even in the hardest times. ❤️

  • Using the Buck Moon to Clear & Release

I am excited to share some information with you and help you clear away some old patterns to help you move forward and create more of what you want in your life using the buck moon to clear and release. As you may know, we're heading into a Full Moon with some pretty heavy retrograde activities going on throughout the month of July. While I don't follow astrology all the time, nor do I claim this is something I know a great deal about, I certainly believe the alignment of stars, planets, and cycles of the moon can have an impact on our well-being. For now, I want to focus on the upcoming Full Moon and what it means to me, and what it potentially can mean for you! This Full Moon is often referred to as the Thunder Moon. It is given this name due to the obvious seasonal timing of receiving thunderstorms and it's a really good time to use this energetic Moon to re-charge and revitalize your energy. This Full Moon is in Capricorn (as if everything is already in retrograde isn't enough, add in the Full Moon partial eclipse in Capricorn!) which is a time of creativity. Allow yourself to let your creative side out and be playful. Let the Thunderstorms be the power behind your creativity for the rest of the month and try to invite some natural aspects into your creations. Consider making a nature mandala, creating a stone grid using stones and other items you've collected on your walks or items from nature, and as always, before taking anything from nature, ask first and show gratitude! This Moon is also called the Buck Moon. What you may not know is why it's called the Buck Moon. This is the time when young male deer grow full antlers, which is an important event since this is what identifies their gender to others. These antlers grow very quickly – up to ½ inch per day. Beginning as a soft, sensitive nub in the Spring, and ending as a full set of hardened, bony antlers in the Fall. This incredible growth represents a huge personal change as it identifies the time when young male deer are ready to claim their power and position in the forest. Many of you know that I'm very animal-oriented, and this is especially personal for me because deer is one of my Totem animals. Buck/deer reminds us to bring gentleness to all that we do and to approach situations from the heart. When we listen to the world with the ears of a deer, we will hear more of the beauty that surrounds us. Since deer sheds its antlers, this time is also about letting go, renewal, and growth. It is this time that I encourage you to get outdoors and return to the truth of who you are... return to nature. This is a time when you must find balance in all areas of life, but most strongly this appears in our relationships- both with ourselves and others. With deer's growth of antlers, we are also given the opportunity to understand the connection between our roots and the directions we are being pulled. This is why balance becomes so essential at this time, and I believe for many of us, balance is a difficult thing to obtain. This Full Moon is a good time to spend time visualizing what you want. It also offers us a great opportunity to connect to our higher self and seek guidance. This is a terrific time to get your Chakras balanced to help you be emotionally stable during this emotional time. On my Facebook page , I'm going to host a seven-day "program" to help you heal and balance your Chakras. If you want to be invited to this special group, head over there to get involved or PM me and I'll invite you to join. As I so often must tell my clients, the only thing is, you need to do the work! It will start Monday, July 15, and run for 7 days. If you miss the start date, you're still welcome to join and I will make sure all members are supported through to the end of the month. The Full Thunder Moon/ Buck Moon is also a wonderful time to do a Burning Bowl or Fire Ceremony. This ceremonial Fire is a method to help you release anything that no longer serves your highest good. By letting go, you then make room for new positive energies to come into your life. As some of you know, I often offer releasing for my clients many of whom will be distantly participating in next week's ceremony. If you have something to release, feel free to get in touch before noon on the 16th and I'll be happy to do this for you. This is the time to turn inwards to find your answers. Meditation can be a great help in this area. Here are a few things you may want to explore, work with, or seek messages from throughout the month: plants, trees or scents include honeysuckle, lemon balm, jasmine, frankincense, oak tree, ash tree or the lotus flower; stones such as moonstone, white agate or other white stones; animals like the osprey, swallow, turtle, whale, crab and dolphin are also options. Perhaps meditate and ask if any of these nature elements have a message especially for you! No matter what you do, I hope your July is rich with love and opportunities for growth and healing. Blessings to you!

  • Shadow Work, Embracing Your Shadow: A Gentle Journey to Self-Healing

When it comes to personal growth and healing, shadow work might sound a bit intimidating at first. After all, who wants to delve into the parts of ourselves that we've tried so hard to ignore? But what if we viewed shadow work not as a daunting task but as an enlightening and ultimately freeing adventure? Let’s explore how gently embracing our shadows can lead to greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and a more authentic life. What is the Shadow? The concept of the shadow work comes from Carl Jung’s psychology. Think of the shadow as the part of yourself that you’ve hidden away—the emotions, thoughts, and traits you might not be so proud of. These can include feelings like jealousy, anger, fear, or sadness. Instead of confronting these feelings, we often tuck them away, pretending they don’t exist. But just like a shadow, they follow us around, influencing our behaviour in ways we might not even realize. The Benefits of Shadow Work So, why bother looking at these shadows? Here are a few gentle reminders of why this practice is worth your time: Emotional Balance When we acknowledge and accept our hidden emotions, we can start to process and heal them. This leads to a more balanced emotional state, where we are less likely to be overwhelmed by unexpected outbursts. Self-Awareness Understanding your shadow work helps you understand yourself better. This self-awareness can guide you to make more conscious choices and respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity. Better Relationships When you’re aware of your shadow, you’re less likely to project your hidden feelings onto others. This can improve communication and reduce conflicts in your relationships. Personal Growth Embracing all parts of yourself, even the ones you’re not so fond of, helps you grow into a more complete and authentic person. Creativity Your shadow work can hold a wealth of untapped potential and creativity. By exploring this part of yourself, you might unlock new ideas and talents. Starting Your Shadow Work Journey Beginning shadow work doesn’t have to be a heavy, overwhelming process. Here are some gentle steps to guide you: Reflect Take some time to think about your thoughts, feelings, and reactions. Notice if certain situations trigger strong emotions or discomfort. These moments can offer clues about your shadow. Journal Write down your thoughts and feelings. Ask yourself questions like, “What am I avoiding?” or “What do I fear the most?” Journaling can be a safe and private way to explore your inner world. Practice Mindfulness Mindfulness and meditation can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings without judgment. These practices create a calm space for self-discovery. Seek Support Talking to a therapist or joining a supportive community can provide valuable guidance. Having someone to walk with you on this journey can make the process feel less daunting. Be Kind to Yourself Remember, shadow work is a gentle and ongoing process. Be patient and compassionate with yourself as you uncover and integrate different parts of your shadow. The Joy of Shadow Work Shadow work is more than just confronting the dark parts of ourselves; it’s about bringing them into the light. This process can lead to profound self-discovery and healing. By embracing our shadows, we open the door to greater self-acceptance, inner peace, and a more authentic way of living. Think of shadow work as a journey to becoming your whole self. As you shine a light on your shadow, you’ll find that it’s not as scary as it seemed. In fact, it can be quite liberating to understand and accept all parts of who you are. Shadow work is an essential part of the healing journey, offering a gentle yet powerful way to understand and integrate our hidden emotions and traits. By approaching this practice with curiosity and compassion, we can unlock new levels of self-awareness, emotional balance, and personal growth. So, take a deep breath and step into your shadow with a light heart. Embrace the journey and discover the beautiful wholeness that lies within.

  • Embracing the Strawberry Moon: The Sweetest Celestial Event of the Year

The Full Moon is a mesmerizing celestial event that has fascinated humanity for centuries. When the Earth aligns directly between the Sun and the Moon, the Moon appears fully illuminated, gracing our night sky with its radiant beauty. This phenomenon occurs roughly once a month, or every 29.53 days on average. In 2024, we will be treated to 12 full moons, one for each month. This is a moment of celebration, symbolizing growth, renewal, and the warmth of summer. • Earth Day, Mother Earth, and the Munay-Ki Earthkeepers Rite: Embracing Our Sacred Connection

As Earth Day approaches, our focus turns to the appreciation and preservation of our planet, often referred to as Gaia or Mother Earth. This Earth Day, let's delve into the profound connection we share with our planet and explore how the Munay-Ki Earthkeepers Rite can deepen our reverence for Mother Earth and inspire us to become stewards of her land. Understanding the Munay-Ki Earthkeepers Rites: There are 9 Munay-Ki Rites which are rooted in the ancient initiatory practices of the Shamans of the Andes and the Amazon. These Rites are energetic transmissions that heal the wounds of the past—the genetic and karmic inheritance we are born with. These Rites serve to transform and upgrade the luminous energy field that surrounds us, known as the aura, and re-inform our DNA. This process enables us to grow a new body that ages, heals, and dies differently, imbuing us with wisdom and power. Embracing Mother Earth on Earth Day: Earth Day serves as a poignant reminder of our symbiotic relationship with Mother Earth. It's a day when people worldwide come together to celebrate the beauty of our planet and take action to protect it. As we honor Earth Day, we can also integrate the principles of the Munay-Ki Earthkeepers Rite into our practices, fostering a deeper sense of reverence and gratitude for Mother Earth. Connecting with Mother Earth through Ceremony and Ritual: One of the core aspects of the Munay-Ki Earthkeepers Rite involves connecting with Mother Earth through ceremony and ritual. These practices help us attune ourselves to the Earth's energy, fostering a sense of oneness and harmony with all living beings. On Earth Day, we can engage in ceremonies such as planting trees, offering prayers, or participating in community clean-up efforts, thereby honoring and nurturing our relationship with Mother Earth. But we want to encourage this practice on a regular basis - definitely more than once a year! Becoming Stewards of Mother Earth: As Earthkeepers, we recognize that we are entrusted with the care of Mother Earth and all her inhabitants. By embodying the values of the Munay-Ki Earthkeepers Rite – such as reverence, compassion, and reciprocity – we can become more effective stewards of the land. As we celebrate Earth Day, let's pledge to deepen our bond with Mother Earth, acknowledging her as the divine wellspring of life itself. Through the timeless wisdom of the Munay-Ki Earthkeepers Rite, we embark on a journey of reverence and guardianship for our planet. • Finding Meaning in Synchronicity: The Lessons Learned from Losing an Earring

Working with Spirit is a journey filled with twists and turns, often leading us to unexpected realizations and moments of clarity. It's a path guided by synchronicities, those meaningful coincidences that seem to align perfectly with our inner journey. Recently, I experienced one such synchronicity that shifted my perspective in a profound way – all thanks to a lost earring!! Let me take you back to the beginning. If you've gotten to know me, you might be aware of the profound loss I experienced when my mom passed away several years ago. Inheriting her cherished possessions was both a blessing and a burden, as they served as reminders of her presence but also stirred up feelings of grief and attachment. Lately, I've been contemplating letting go of some of these items, but each time I tried, I was met with a wave of anxiety and hesitation. Among the treasures I inherited were a pair of ruby earrings, which I wore almost daily for nearly a decade – until one day, I lost one of them. Surprisingly, I didn't feel the usual despair at its loss; instead, I had a nagging sense that there was a deeper reason behind it. So, I waited, trusting that an answer would reveal itself in due time. That evening, as I searched the floor for the missing earring, I heard a familiar voice – my mom's voice. In that moment, I felt her presence, reassuring me that it was okay to let go of her belongings. She reminded me that her essence didn't reside in material possessions but rather in the love she left behind in my heart. With her words echoing in my mind, I realized that holding onto physical objects wasn't a true connection to her; instead, it was hindering my ability to move forward and fully embrace life. It was a profound lesson delivered through a seemingly mundane event – the loss of a small earring. Feeling empowered by this revelation, I'm now ready to embark on a journey of spring cleaning – not just of my physical space but also of my emotional baggage. I'll keep only those things that hold genuine meaning, bring me joy, and serve a purpose in my life. And as I navigate this process, I take comfort in knowing that I'm supported by Spirit, guiding me every step of the way. As if to affirm my newfound clarity, a dear friend shared a quote on social media the very same day I lost my earring – a gentle reminder of what truly matters in life. It is the moments like these that reaffirm my belief in the power of synchronicity and the guiding hand of Spirit in our lives. Ever found yourself stuck in a tough spot or wrestling with tricky decisions? Pay attention to those little synchronicities around you. They might just be the universe's way of nudging you towards fresh insights and new pathways of growth and self-discovery. Because in life's grand dance, even the smallest mishaps like losing an earring can carry profound lessons – if only we're open to listening. So, next time you're feeling lost or uncertain, remember to keep an eye out for those serendipitous moments. They could be the key to unlocking your next big breakthrough! And now, I'm curious: what's the most unexpected lesson you've learned from life's little mishaps? Share your stories below! If you liked this blog I would love for you to read more!!
